What happens when you call

1. Darren answers Not a call centre, and not an answering service taking a message. The person who picks up is the person who comes to your home.
2. You describe what it is doing When it started, what you can hear, whether there is any heat at all. More often than not he can tell you what he thinks it is before he comes out.
3. You agree a time Same day where he can manage it. He explains what he finds before recommending the next step, so nothing happens that you have not agreed to.

Worth having to hand

• Your address, and which town you are in.
• The make of the furnace or air conditioner if you know it — it is usually on a label behind the front panel.
• What it is doing: no heat at all, starting and stopping, a noise that is new, or water on the floor.
