Matched to the furnace

A new air conditioner does not work alone. It needs to be sized for the home and matched with the furnace, blower, indoor coil and ductwork that move cooled air through it.

One cooling system, not separate pieces

Darren assesses the existing equipment before recommending a new air conditioner. With more than 30 years in the field, he understands how a change to one part of the system affects the rest.

You receive a clear explanation of the equipment choice and how it fits the home. The result is a properly matched system—not simply the largest unit that will fit beside the house.

A new air conditioner has to suit the furnace and blower already in place.

Questions we get asked

Why must an air conditioner match the furnace?

The furnace blower moves cooled air through the ductwork. The air conditioner, indoor coil and blower need to be compatible so the complete system can operate as intended.

Does a larger air conditioner cool better?

No. An oversized unit may cycle too quickly and control comfort poorly. The right size depends on the home and the system around it.

Do I need to replace the furnace at the same time?

Not necessarily. Darren will assess the existing furnace, blower and ductwork to determine whether they are suitable for the new air conditioner.
